Computational Thinking (CT) game sessions
The COVID19 pandemic has forced us to adapt to a new way of work and life, like many other businesses and educational institutes. Recognizing the need to continue the program, our VE facilitators who played the CT games with children by regularly visiting their schools through the academic year 2019-20, have quickly adapted some of the games to make it possible to engage with children remotely. After much brainstorming with ideas and several trial games within the VE team, we realized that not only most of these games can actually be played virtually, it can be as interactive and exciting as it is, when played face to face. Our experiments resulted in some suggestions on improvisation in order to suit the online mode and without changing the “ludic” essence and objective of these games. Most of these games, now being played online are receiving an overwhelming response from the children.
