Story telling sessions

Stories play a vital role in the growth and development of children. They are a useful source of information and children appreciate that good reading skills and knowledge are important for success in their future lives. Reading helps children boost their confidence levels, cope with feelings, develop language skills and learn concepts related to Science and Maths as well.
VE facilitators carefully choose stories and either directly narrate online or sometimes send the recordings in advance to the children. Every story session begins with what the story is about followed by the meanings and usage of some of the difficult words. The circle time that follows is a vibrant session where children are asked to talk about the story and relate it with their own experiences. Children were also encouraged to record their own stories and send across for everyone to listen, which are usually a delight to hear!
